Big Bay Beach

Beach, Caves, Cayes, and Islands
Big Bay Beach, Betsy Bay, Mayaguana, The Bahamas – Bahamas Ministry of Tourism

Big Bay is a long broad stretch of beach located one half mile from L&L Enterprises and just beyond the Betsy Bay cemetery. You'll have an interesting walk from the street to the shoreline, and once you arrive you're likely to be the only people there.

The water is very blue and clear and quite shallow close to shore. There are numerous trees for shade, so you'll be able to get a break from the sun. Some areas of the beach are sprinkled with treasures thrown up by the sea.

Accessibility Notes

This beach might not be suitable for persons who are physically challenged or in wheelchairs, because of the long walk from the street to the beach, and the sandy and sometimes rocky terrain.

Recreational Opportunities

This sandy beach is great for picnicking, shelling, sunbathing, and swimming, plus there is good line fishing at nearby Graveyard Flats. It is also a great spot to spend time with your beloved on your honeymoon or other romantic getaway.
