The list of project collaborators and supporters of The Bahamas Family of Islands Geotourism MapGuide is long already, and it will continue to grow. In addition to National Geographic, this initiative is supported by the following regional partners.
Compete Caribbean is a private sector development program that provides technical assistance grants and investment funding to support productive development policies, business climate reforms, clustering initiatives and Small and Medium Size Enterprise (SME) development activities in the Caribbean region.
The program, jointly funded by the Inter-American Development Bank (IDB), the United Kingdom Department for International Development (DFID) and the Canadian International Development Agency (CIDA), supports projects in 15 Caribbean countries.
The Bahamas Ministry of Tourism is the agency with responsibility for developing and implementing marketing strategies in collaboration with its private sector partners promoting all of the unique islands of The Bahamas. The Ministry's Vision Statement: "We envision the development of our nation as a collection of diverse yet easily accessible islands, each of which is globally celebrated for the delightful experiences that it provides for visitors and for the sustainable economic and social benefits that it brings to our investors and residents."
The Ministry currently has tourist offices/representation in the following overseas jurisdictions: London, England; Paris, France; Spain, Portugal, Belgium, Germany, Austria, Switzerland, Italy. United States (Plantation, Fla. Los Angeles, California); Canada; Latin America. Eastern Europe (Poland, Bulgaria, Serbia, Czech Republic and Slovakia).
