Broad Shad Cay Lodge
Once you arrive at the Fresh Creek (Andros Town) Airport, take a right, exiting the airport to Cargill Creek. It is approximately 25 miles between the airport and dock. On your left, just before approaching the Cargill Creek Bridge, you will see a sign with North Bight Marine Store. Turn left there and you will see Andy's dock, or take a taxi to Andy's dock in Cargill Creek where the ferry will meet you. Moxey Town is another port of entry to Broad Shad Cay Lodge.
Locally or Family-Owned Business Notes
Andy and his wife Sharon are the proprietors and operate the exclusive Broad Shad Cay Lodge. He began fly-fishing at the tender age of 11 out of his father's camp, Charlie's Haven in Behring Point. Andy comes from a third generation of guides on both side of his family. His passion over the years has allowed him to gain insight into the wider fly-fishing industry.
Lodge or Resort Description
Broad Shad Cay Lodge was built by Andros Island's fishing legend, Andy Smith, and is a great place to hunt big Bonefish. The Lodge is located on a private cay in the middle of North Bight, which is seven miles from the mainland of Behring Point.
You will be transported by ferry from the mainland to the cay/lodge and it takes approximately 15 - 20 minutes.
The second-best reason to come to Broad Shad Cay Lodge, right behind the great fishing, is to experience The Bahamas in complete privacy at its natural, unspoiled best. Free of roads or vehicles, we boast a network of man-made trails, Eco-friendly scenery, and Andros Rock. A wooden deck extending from the veranda of the lodge is the perfect place to watch sunsets and gaze at the stars at night. Let nature do the rest.
