Cebric "Dr. Seabreeze" Bethel

Community, Local Artist, Musician, or Craftsperson

Cebric William Bethel was born and grew up in Palmetto Point, and is a self-taught musician and local legend. He is known to everyone on the island as "Doc," but no one seems to know where he went to medical school. However, it seems that he put his stethoscope aside for the six string and has never looked back.

A world traveler, he has visited many countries including London, Belgium, Germany, and the United States, and was one of the first Bahamians to sing in a New York nightclub.

Dr. Seabreeze is an iconic Bahamian singer and entertainer who has fascinated visitors to the island of Eleuthera since he picked up the saw and maracas in 1955 at the tender age of 14. He sang lead with "The Jolly Boys" band in the 1950's and 60's.

He has been soothing the ears of many natives and visitors alike for many years and has recorded two albums which are available in CD's. He can be found singing and entertaining guests at various restaurants and weddings throughout the year.
