Chat ‘N’ Chill™

Reno Curling

This volleyball beach bar and grill, located on Stocking Island, is an international playground for those seeking adventure and solace off the beaten path. Visitors from around the world come here to escape the crowds and enjoy the casual, laid-back vibe, which offers a memorable and authentic Out Island experience.

Bahamian and American cuisine is served, including fresh conch salad, conch burgers, grilled native foods, and tropical drinks. At the water's edge, you can watch the Conch Man create the island's freshest conch salad, right before your eyes. Their Sunday Pig Roast is Stocking Island's biggest social event and has been held weekly since 2001.

You can plan the perfect private island beach party or destination wedding with A Wedding Breeze, Chat ‘N’ Chill®’s sister company headed by Chat ‘N’ Chill® co-owner Kwanza Bowe. Your event will be that much more special while feeding and swimming with the friendly stingrays and enjoying over 1,000 feet of pristine white sand beach with magnificent sunsets.

Getting here is just a five-minute boat ride across Elizabeth Harbour from George Town. Water Taxi transportation is provided by Elvis Ferguson's Water Taxi Service and runs throughout the day. Call the Water Taxi on VHF 16 or (242) 464-1558. There is also a Beach Shop featuring Chat 'N' Chill® logo merchandise, Tervis Tumblers, hats, T-shirts, plus custom island welcome gifts for weddings and more.

Cash, MasterCard, and Visa credit cards are accepted. (Those + American Express at the gift shop.)

Locally or Family-Owned Business Notes

Chat ‘N’ Chill™ was created and built by Kenneth D. Bowe (also known as KB), a native Exumian. He pursued an MBA in Finance and Economics at The University of Chicago in 1973, then while working for a bank there, his research in corporate finance led to his discovering that future trends in leisure vacations would revolve around water activities.

With this enlightenment, KB purchased the site for Chat ‘N’ Chill® in 1980. He invited the cruisers from the George Town Cruising Regatta and others to use the volleyball courts and picnic area at Chat ‘N’ Chill® to hold their daily volleyball games and weekly events, which continues today. During KB’s travels to Europe and Asia, he developed the concept for the design of Chat ‘N’ Chill® and built it with his own hands along with his good friend and local artisan, David Smith. The doors opened in 1998 to serve the annual visiting winter boats that frequent George Town’s Elizabeth Harbour.
