Cut Cay

Beach, Caves, Cayes, and Islands
Ministry of tourism San Salvador

Christopher Columbus referred to Cut Cay as "the island that is not an island" in his journal. He believed that it would be a good site for a fortress. It is the small island across a shallow channel off North Point in San Salvador. At low tide, one can wade across to the Cay.

Accessibility Notes

Getting to the cay could be challenging for persons with mobility impairments or those in wheelchairs. Care should also be taken when moving around on the loose sand.
