Locally or Family-Owned Business Notes
Mr. Minnis started the business in the early 1940's, catering to U.S. sailors based on Exuma during World War II. He taught his daughter Andrea (deceased) how to run the business. Andrea's husband aka "Rap" (deceased) managed the family-owned restaurant and bar. After the passing of Andrea's husband, the family business was managed by Andrea's son, Kevin Brown (deceased), for many years. The business is now managed by Sophia Brown-Smith, Kevin's sister and Andrea's daughter. It is a very popular hang out for locals and the hundreds of cruisers that frequent George Town each year.
