Founded in the late 1700's, the tiny historic settlement of New Plymouth on Green Turtle Cay is very proud of its Loyalist heritage and its African roots. The two cultures have happily cohabited for many decades, sharing customs and entertainment.
This annual event has become quite a hit, and the residents and descendants look forward to it every year. It is a fun-filled, educational festival, showcasing and celebrating the relationship between New Plymouth, Green Turtle Cay, and its sister settlement Key West, Florida, USA. You will learn a lot about the relationship between the two cities, from the speakers, displays, and the Genealogy Research Center. There will also be delicious local dishes, a great selection of Bahamian entertainment, a variety of beautiful straw creations, and one-of-a-kind art pieces for sale.
The festivities will take place 11:00 a.m. to 11:00 p.m. on each day.
