Kiwanis Park is located in the middle of Matthew Town and backs onto a nice white sand beach with shallow blue-green water. On a clear, calm day, the outline of southern Cuba, located just 45 miles across the Old Bahama Channel, can be seen from the park.
This is the hub of activities in Inagua and the venue for festivals and other community events. During weeknights, the daiquiri stand serves steak, fish, conch snacks, and fritters, in addition to their frozen drinks. The park becomes a "Fish Fry" on weekends, with booths offering fried fish dinners, jerk pork and chicken, with peas and rice, and macaroni and cheese.
The annual Seafood Fest, held in October, features a concert in Kiwanis Park to showcase local talent.
This site is wheelchair friendly, but care should be taken when moving around on the site because it is located next to the sea.
