The beach at Long Bay with the white cross. – Alex Mustard

The settlement of Long Bay is located southwest on the island of San Salvador. It sits opposite the Landfall Park that commemorates the arrival of Christopher Columbus to the island. The park is home to the Columbus Monument, The Olympic Monument, The Quincentennial Monument, and the Neo Santa Maria Monument.

Family descendants are the Williams.

History

The town was allegedly named by Christopher Columbus, who used a very long boat when he came ashore in that area and thought that the name was fitting.
