Many believe that the pool (or blue hole) within the Great Lake is the habitat of a mermaid, thus giving this site its name. She can reportedly be seen at times frolicking in and out of the underground caverns and passageways. When you speak of her to the locals, they'll gladly detail the various sightings.
The lake spans 65 feet and is 10 feet deep.
The site is not ideal for persons with mobility impairments or those in wheelchairs.
Leashed pets are permitted, but they must be controlled.
Diving and swimming, if you are experienced.
