This monument, which commemorates the 1968 Olympic games, is located at Long Bay. It is made of black tiles, and has a clear label of "Mexico" and the Olympic Rings at the front.
The flame, brought from Greece by ship, was placed in the monument before it was taken to Mexico City to open the games there.
It is a popular place for visitors to take pictures, especially sports fans.
This site is easily accessible by persons who are physically challenged or in wheelchairs. However, care should be taken when moving around on the sandy terrain.
Only leashed pets are allowed.
