North Eleuthera Sailing Regatta
This annual event is held during the National Heroes Day holiday weekend, previously celebrated as Columbus or Discovery Day, in the waters between Harbour Island and mainland Eleuthera.
Sailors from several islands in The Bahamas compete to see who's the fastest in Class A, B, and C sailing sloops. Bahamian culture comes alive for those few days and activities include a church service to open the event, live band performances, a cultural extravaganza, native food and drinks, and lots of Bahamian music.
Persons with mobility impairments and those in wheelchairs should be careful when moving around on the site, because it is usually crowded.
