Samuel Nelson
Mr. Samuel Nelson, a Certified Advanced Bird Guide, is a teacher by profession and has been a bird enthusiast from a tender age growing up in Jamaica. His exuberant nature and knowledge of the environment make a day in the field with him an enjoyable experience for both young and old.
The species that you can see with him include the Bahama Swallow, Mockingbird, Woodstar Hummingbird or Oriole which are the Bahamian endemics. The resident birds such as the Great Lizard Cuckoo, Red Legged Thrush, Greater Antillean Night Hawk, Migrant Black Whiskered, Thick Billed, and White Eyed Vireos, Reddish Egrets and American Oyster Catchers can also be found on the island of Andros.

Mr. Nelson presently works with the Ministry of Education as a Special Education/Resource Room Teacher and has used bird themes on numerous occasion to teach students to read, comprehend, and compute numbers through interaction with the outside environment. He is married to Dahlia, and has a six year old daughter, his personal bird spotter.
