Sandy Point is a settlement located on a narrow peninsula in southwest Great Abaco, about 50 miles southwest of Marsh Harbour. It is well laid out with traditional Bahamian houses, and is a relatively prosperous settlement, with fishing and craw-fishing the main industries. Typical family names are Lightbourne, Bain, Dean, Adderley, Burrows, Green, and Roker.
There is direct weekly mailboat service to Nassau.
