At Sandy Point, a strange phenomenon occurs in summer where the waves carry the sand to the west, forming six to eight-foot deep pools of water. In winter, the sand is moved back to the other side.
Persons who are physically challenged or in wheelchairs might have difficulty maneuvering on the sand.
This beach is great for snorkeling and swimming, and is especially nice for children.
