Sandy Point: San Salvador
There is a settlement called Sandy Point on a number of islands in The Bahamas. Located on the southwest side of San Salvador, this one is home to John Watling's Estates, which takes up a large portion of the area.
Sandy Point is home to many vacation-home owners who visit the island during the winter months. It is made up of Columbus Landing 1-4, and has prime land for development. Some of the island's best beaches are found here, including Grotto Beach, French Beach, and Broad Beach. The Dripping Rock Cave and the Blue Hole are also located in this area.
This is a good catching ground for indigenous land crabs, a delicacy used in many local dishes.
