The Douglas Christopher Inland Blue Hole Trail

Hiking Trail or Trailhead

The Douglas Christopher Blue Hole is the best inland trail in Mangrove Cay, Andros. It is a hiking trail that is two miles from the main road to the starting point of the trail. This trail is also a two-mile walk to the blue hole, but along the way there are lots of birds, termite mounds, and the place I call 'orchid world' where there are thousands of beautiful flowers. There are also beautiful Bahamian pine trees and many other trees there.

There are no lions, tigers; no bears and no poisonous animals, but there is the Andros Rock Iguana, which is rare to see.

Accessibility Notes

The trail is a little rough but that is why it is a trail. You will need a nice pair of sneakers and some long pants for this trip. I have taken persons from a five year old to a 78 year old on this trail. However, it may not be suitable for persons with mobility impairments or those in wheelchairs.

Pet Friendly Notes

This trail has some pot holes so dogs are fine, but should be leashed.

Trail Distance

The trail is two miles long.
