The Fig Tree Park
This park has been used as a meeting place for all the seamen and farmers of Harbour Island over the years; they would sit here and discuss what was going on in their lives. The namesake fig tree once hosted the town bulletin board before phones and other digital media became the preferred means of communication.
In August 1992, Hurricane Andrew destroyed the popular fig tree, which had stood for more than 75 years. A new tree has since been planted to replace the ancient landmark.
